Welcome to Italian Studies at Oxford

Italian Studies at Oxford (ISO) is an interdisciplinary network of scholars working on Italy at the University of Oxford

It aims to foster dialogue and collaboration among Oxford academics working in different disciplines. It co-ordinates interdisciplinary research projects and provides a forum for scholars and intellectuals, policy makers and other experts from Italy and elsewhere.

ISO is one of the associations and research groups at Oxford's Faculty of Medieval and Modern Languages.

Once again, in collaboration with Oxford University's Italian Society, we are proud to invite you to our Italian Film evenings.

All screenings take place in the Mary Eccles room at Pembroke College, at 8pm

Dr Emma Bond leaves for Warwick

After three productive years as ISO's Research Co-ordinator, Dr Emma Bond is leaving for new pastures as of 1 October 2012. She is taking the position of Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Institute of Advanced Studies at Warwick University. The Steering Committee would like to extend their warmest thanks to Emma for her flawless contribution to ISO's activities and they wish her the very best in her promising career as a scholar and an academic.

History and Migration Workshop - Oxford 2nd June

ISO held the first event in its AHRC funded research network program, 'Human Mobility and Cultural History: The Italian Case as Explanatory Model' at Pembroke College, Oxford on Saturday 2nd June. The three project co-ordinators (Professor Guido Bonsaver, Dr Elena Isayev and Dr Guido Tintori) presented a position paper for discussion with our international partners.

The next workshop is scheduled to take place in autumn 2012, and more details will follow shortly.

Destination Italy: April conference programme now online

The full programme for the ISO conference "Destination Italy: Representing Migration in Contemporary Media and Narrative" is now available online. The conference will take place at Pembroke College, Oxford from the 13th - 15th April 2012.
