This is the first conference of the ISO research project: “History: Italy as a Migration Crossroad”, which is part of the programme: "Migrating Italy: And Interdisciplinary Study of Migration In and Out of Italy". It will take place in Oxford on 15-16 May 2009, and will comprise a first day of public talks and discussion, followed by a half-day workshop. The aim of the workshop is to flesh out a publication project which will be presented in its final stage at a future, more comprehensive conference to be held in Oxford in the spring of 2010.
